Family Photos

We visited Duncan's studio of Dlt Photographic (http://www.dltphoto.com/) to get some new family photos as we hadn't gotten any since Rylan was born. Brayden had to be coaxed by some silliness and Rylan really just wanted to sleep....but they did turn out great! Thanks Duncan for making our photos quick, so we didn't have to set the timer in our studio!

Christmas Fun!

Merry Christmas!

We went to Jeannine's parents for Christmas Eve, opened presents at home Christmas morning and then went to Clay's parents in the afternoon on Christmas Day. Brayden (and sleepy Rylan --sort of) opened a lot of presents!

Brayden's new digital camera...

Twinkies!

Cute matching pj's...both tigers!

Brayden's Family Birthday

On December 22nd, we had both sides of the family (plus Paul and Joc and the kids) over for cake and icecream. Check out the cute hat cousin Leanne gave him! Papa Ken gave him the guitar . Awesome!

Bayden's Actual 'Birth-day'

On Brayden's actual birthday, December 21st, we went for dinner at Red Robin with Ryan and Joanna....he didn't quite know what to think of the waiters and waitresses that all sang 'Happy Birthday' to him! After, we went to Castle Fun Park... he hit some pucks, kicked some soccer balls, bowled some skee balls, and played a few car racing games with dad. Using the tickets he won, he got some yummy candies! He got a really big BUZZ Light Year Action Figure ( 'Space Ranger') toy from Mom and Dad. He was really excited!

Christmas Baking

We recently made sugar cookies and Brayden is always more than willing to help out! He gets his stool, puts it up to the cupboard so he can reach and pours the measured ingredients into the bowl. He especially liked using the cookie cutters and eating the finished product! Yum!

"Talking"

Opa and Rylan were deep in conversation...how cute!

Brayden's 3rd Birthday

We always have a party for Brayden's friends a little early so he doesn't get so overloaded with presents at Christmas. This party happened to land on December 13. He recently got the new Disney movie CARS, so he wanted a "Car Race" Birthday. I found plates, cups and napkins at Superstore and couldn't resist. Being the ambitious one, I also tried to make a Lightning McQueen cake --3D--well at 10:30 pm on Tuesday night it didn't seem like such a good idea when the back end fell apart. Needless to say we recovered the car with a trusty husband running to Save-On for more icing... and trying to match the colours! WOW! Anyways, Clay also set up a "ginormous" ( thanks gramma rain) race track in the studio. The kids had a lot of fun!

Who's Who?

I saw a picture of Brayden at a month old and decided to stage the same picture with Rylan (they do look like brothers, don't they?!) to make a fun little contest! Who is Brayden and who is Rylan? Cast your votes now.

Ready to Run

Rylan is getting soooo big now! He is 7 weeks (close to 14 pounds), wearing 3-6 month clothes, and just like his shirt says, he is "ready to run". He looks a lot like Brayden at this age...you can tell that they are brothers; however, Clay's features are more prominent. He also is starting to smile and really looks like Jeannine. Thanks again Rhonda and family for the really cute shirt!

Decorating the Tree

We went to the Ledgeview tree farm down the street from us on Saturday, December 2. Brayden was mesmerized by the "ginormous" trees. He got a cookie at the farm and put it in his pocket to "save it for later". We got the tree home and put it up, but it fell over because our tree stand broke. Luckily, we hadn't put on any decorations, so nothing was damaged. Finally, on Monday, we put on the ornaments. Brayden "loved his piglet ornament" we got him at Disneyland Paris. He also put on the Eeyore ornament for Rylan. He had fun letting the tree branched tickle his head and laughed hysterically as seen in the picture. Our tree looks great!

New Tradition

Last week I bought a gingerbread house making kit. Today we put it together! Brayden didn't like the icing, but loved putting on the candies ( had to be the "right way!").

Live Nativity at TWU

In the true Christmas season, we went to Trinity Western University to see a live nativity with Grandma, Opa and Auntie Trisha. The lights were "beautiful"as Brayden said. It was REALLY cold, but the hot chocolate and cider warmed us from the inside out. Rylan was in his stroller sound asleep all bundled up. Brayden discovered that he liked gingerbread! He enjoyed the petting zoo at the end. He is covering his ears because the cow was mooing really loudly. We also made a candy cane reindeer in the kids center. FUN!
